Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors consists of elected officials serving six year terms. The Board performs primarily legislative functions. These include setting policy, enacting ordinances and resolutions, adopting budgets and levying taxes. The Board also appoints and supervises the Township Manager, who handles the day-to-day administration of Doylestown.

Meetings

The Board of Supervisors meets every third Tuesday of every month at 7 PM. All meetings are conducted in the Community Meeting Room in the Township Building located at 425 Wells Road, Doylestown, PA.

Jennifer Herring

Over fifteen years ago Jennifer Herring and her husband, Karl settled into their first home in Doylestown Township to start a family. Jennifer fell in love with the community, the character of our township and the surrounding natural beauty. Their biggest pride is their young daughter who is fortunate to attend school in our award-winning public school district. Jennifer graduated from Temple University’s Fox School of Business in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She practiced public accounting; performing audits, tax preparation and consulting for over 18 years. In that capacity she audited corporations, non-profits and governmental entities. With this experience, Jennifer opened her own small practice in Doylestown. In addition to starting her own firm, she used her skills to support local business and agriculture by volunteering and sitting on the board of directors for two Doylestown nonprofits whose focus is to promote local agribusiness and community health.

Barbara Lyons

Barbara Lyons, Esq. was appointed to the Board of Supervisors on June 18, 2002, to carry out the remainder of the term previously occupied by John T. Carson (deceased). Prior to her appointment, Ms. Lyons served for several years as Chairman of the Township’s Park and Recreation Board. She is currently serving as Doylestown Township’s Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, is also the past Chairman of the Township’s Oktoberfest Committee and is currently Chairman of the Township Golf Outing. Ms. Lyons earned her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, and holds a Juris Doctor from Temple Law School. A former trial attorney, she now practices law as a civil mediator and neutral arbitrator. In addition to her Township activities, Ms. Lyons serves the community on various boards including Central Bucks Cares and as a counselor to women and families in transition. She and her husband, Rick Lyons, have three children.

Dan Wood

Dan is a proud Doylestown Township resident, growing up here and attending school at Kutz Elementary, Lenape Middle School and CB West High School. He attended college at Penn State University. Dan was a Boy Scout with Troop 71, out of Kutz Elementary, where he earned his Eagle award. Drawing on his love of the outdoors, he is an avid cyclist and backpacker and loves to make use of the bike and hike trails in our township and the surrounding area. Prior to becoming a Township Supervisor, Dan was a member of the Township’s Public Water and Sewer Advisory Committee and the Environmental Advisory Council. He also enjoys volunteering in the Township’s Native Plant Garden in Central Park. Dan lives with his son Connor here in Doylestown. When he’s not enjoying the amenities our community has to offer, Dan works as a software engineer specializing in mobile development.

Nancy and her husband Michael moved to Doylestown Township in 1994 and have raised their three sons who have all attended the Central Bucks School District. Nancy brings a range of work experience. She has worked as an Admissions Advisor for the Wharton School of Business for the last 10 years. Before her children, she spent nine years in human resources working in compensation, labor negotiations and benefits for both Princeton University and the Vanguard Group in Malvern. Nancy has been deeply woven in the community by volunteering in the schools, teaching CCD, and serving as president for the CB West Parent Lacrosse team and a parent ambassador for Penn State. Her desire to serve as a Township Supervisor is a natural extension of the outreach she has in the community and the school district. She can be found cheering on her sons, nieces and nephews at West sporting events and at the dog park with her Great Dane, Lucia.

As a longtime resident of Doylestown, Judy enjoys much of what our township has to offer: great walking/running trails and cycling roads; the pool at the YMCA; 5K races; great civic groups and wonderful neighbors. Now newly retired, Judy Dixon is eager to give back to the community that she loves.  From her experience as both a business person and working parent, she understands the needs of families as well as businesses, large and small.  As a young mother, Judy started her own local business in Doylestown, (which is still open today), and more recently, worked for an $8 billion company as a security consultant. Retiring after 16 years in the security industry, Judy has the time and energy to bring to Doylestown Township. Through all her endeavors, Judy works to fully embrace the organizations for which she serves.  Her volunteer background in Doylestown includes teaching decision making skills to incarcerated individuals; volunteering with the Buck County Medical Reserve Corp, and she is Board Member of her Community Association.  Professionally, Judy is the past Chair of ASIS in Delaware, and has been a speaker on a variety of security related topics.  Judy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Temple University.
