Community Recreation Center

The Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors are excited to announce plans for the Township’s Community Recreation Center, which will also include the transformation of Field 1 in Central Park into tennis, basketball, pickle ball and bocce ball courts. The Community Recreation Center will be situated next to the Township Building where the current tennis and basketball courts are located. Currently, the Township has no indoor public recreation facility. This new facility will include a gym, three multi-purpose rooms, warming kitchen, and a large patio that overlooks Central Park. In addition, permanent restroom facility will be constructed near the Amphitheater and Kids Castle.
The Township was awarded a grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for $1 million for the construction of the Community Recreation Center. In addition, the Township received an additional $500,000 for the construction of the new activity courts. We are thankful to our State Senator Steve Santarsiero for his assistance in obtaining this funding. The RACP is an extremely competitive grant program and we are very fortunate to receive this funding for this project.
Capital Fundraising Campaign
A Capital Fundraising Campaign will be kicking off soon with plenty of naming opportunities! There will be many options for everyone to help to contribute to this facility and other park improvements for Central Park. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!

The Feasibility Study includes a report on solar and geothermal energy initiatives. *Footnote: This study was done during 2020 and some of the projected assumptions from the study may need to be adjusted based upon current economic conditions. Supervisor Nancy Santacecilia wanted to note that she does not believe her statements that are in the appendix of the feasibility study accurately reflect her comments.
Video Preview of the Building and Park Improvements
Please note that the video is to give the community an idea of the building and park improvements. Not everything is included and some things appear (example outdoor bathrooms) not as they will be constructed, it is just to give a sneak peek at some of the exciting improvements to Central Park. This video will be updated as we move forward on this process.
