Mandatory drought restrictions have been lifted for all Doylestown Township Municipal Authority (DTMA) customers.
Abundant rainfall coupled with cooler temperatures have restored groundwater well levels to pre-drought conditions. DTMA provides this update in coordination with the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) by using the latest drought indicator benchmarks.
While conditions have improved, DTMA continues to promote water conservation and encourages the following responsible water practices:
- Turn the faucet off while brushing teeth.
- When washing dishes by hand, do not leave the faucet flowing for rinsing.
- Take short showers instead of a bath.
- Run the washing machine only when it's full and consider using the shortest cycle possible for washing clothes.
- Water the lawn or garden during the coolest part of the day. Do not water on windy days.
- Consider planting drought resistant trees and shrubs.
- Repair all small leaks found on your homes plumbing system.
DTMA recognizes the effort and discipline put forth by all our customers during this tough time. It is reassuring to know that when presented with adversity, our customers will endeavor to protect our water supply.
