Special Meeting

Board of Supervisors Meeting

A Special Meeting of the Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Doylestown Township Municipal Building, 425 Wells Road, Doylestown, PA. Members of the Board of Supervisors is attendance included Barbara N. Lyons, Chairman; E. Thomas Scarborough, Jr., Vice Chairman; Barbara Eisenhardt; and Cynthia Philo.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

Ms. Lyons welcomed everyone to the evenings meeting and indicated the reason for the procedures was to review the seventeen (17) applicants for the vacancy on the Board of Supervisors created February 16, 2010 by the resignation of Jeffrey A. Bennett.

 

The Board conducted interviews on March 3rd and 4th, 2010, and if the Board cannot within a 30-day period from Mr. Bennett’s resignation select another candidate to serve then the Vacancy Board will convene. The purpose of this evenings meeting is to deliberate over the candidates and see if the Board has consensus towards an appointment.

 

MOTION by Ms. Philo to nominate Jim Bingler, seconded by Mrs. Eisenhardt, both commented on Mr. Bingler’s dedication to the community and his life long residency.

 

The question was called and the vote was 2 to 2, the MOTION FAILED with Mrs. Lyons and Mr. Scarborough voting nay.

 

MOTION by Mrs. Eisenhardt to appoint Ken Snyder, seconded by Ms. Philo, both indicated Mr. Snyder’s ability to serve the community and bring neutrality to the Board.

 

The question was called and the vote was 2 to 2, the MOTION FAILED with Mrs. Lyons and Mr. Scarborough voting nay.

 

MOTION by Mr. Scarborough to appoint Rick Colello, seconded by Mrs. Lyons, both commented on his tenure as Chairman of the Township Planning Commission, commitment, dedication, past association with the Township’s Oktoberfest.

 

The question was called and the vote was 3 to 1, the MOTION PASSED with Mrs. Eisenhardt voting nay.

 

Being no further business the Board congratulated Mr. Colello on his appointment and indicated that he would be sworn in at the March 16, 2010 meeting.

 

Being no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:12 PM.
