About the Board |
|
|
|
The Board of Supervisors consists of elected
officials serving six year terms. Agendas for the meetings are
available the Friday prior to the meeting date. The Board
performs primarily legislative functions. These include setting
policy, enacting ordinances and resolutions, adopting budgets
and levying taxes. The Board also appoints and supervises the
Township Manager, who handles the day-to-day administration of
Doylestown.
The Board of Supervisors
meets on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 PM.
All meetings are conducted at the Township Building, 425 Wells
Road, Doylestown, PA.

Barbara N. Lyons

Barbara Lyons, Esq. was appointed to the Board of Supervisors on
June 18, 2002, to carry out the remainder of the term previously
occupied by John T. Carson (deceased). Prior to her
appointment, Ms. Lyons served for several years as Chairman of the Township’s Park and Recreation Board. She is
currently serving as Doylestown Township's Chairman of the Board
of Supervisors, is also the past
Chairman of the Township's Oktoberfest Committee and is currently
Chairman of the Township Golf Outing.
Ms. Lyons earned her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, and
holds a Juris Doctor from Temple Law School. A former trial
attorney, she now practices law as a civil mediator and neutral
arbitrator. In addition to her Township activities, Ms. Lyons
serves the community on various boards including Central Bucks
Cares
and as a counselor to women and families in transition. She and
her husband, Rick Lyons, have three children.
A resident of Doylestown for 25 years, Ms. Lyons looks forward
to her role as Township Supervisor. |

E. Thomas Scarborough, Jr.

|
Thomas
Scarborough has been a life-long resident of the Doylestown
area. Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors in
January 1996, he served for several years as Chairman of the
Township’s Cable TV Advisory Council. He also served as a
Doylestown Borough Councilman before moving into the Township as
well as on the Bucks County Community Development Block Grant
Advisory Board, The Bucks County Social Services Sub-Committee,
and he served as President of the Bucks County
Association of Township Officials during the 2006-2007 period.
Mr.
Scarborough has been involved in numerous community activities
throughout the years such as The Bucks County Chapter March of
Dimes (Past Chairman), The Fanny Chapman Pool Board (Past Vice
Chairman), The Doylestown Athletic Association (Founding
Member), The Central Bucks Family YMCA (Past Director),
and he was selected as one of the
"Outstanding Young Men in America" in 1973.
Mr. Scarborough attended
Delaware Valley College and served in the United States Air
Force.
He and his wife Carol have
two children, Thomas II and Allison.

Richard F. Colello (December

Richard (Rick) Colello was appointed to the Board of Supervisors
on March 16, 2010. Prior to his appointment, Rick served for
several years on the Oktoberfest Committee as well as the
Planning Commission.
In 1972 Rick graduated from Saint Joseph's College with a BS
degree in Mathematics. After twenty two years in the
transportation industry he went back to school and began a
second career as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) located in
Doylestown.
In addition to volunteering on Township Committees, Rick also is
involved in several charitable organizations in the community.
Rick has been a resident of Doylestown Township since 1985, is
married to Marie and has two children (Allison & Kristine), a
son-in-law Joe, and two grandchildren (Nadia & Adam). |

Ryan is the Executive Director of the Travis Manion Foundation, a non-profit
that was founded after her brother 1st Lt Travis Manion was
killed in Iraq in 2007. She has been inspired to help wounded
Veterans and Families of Fallen Heroes because of her brother’s
character, leadership and sacrifice. As the sister of a fallen
Marine, Ryan has had several opportunities to speak to a
national audience about the importance of supporting our
military community. She is responsible for strategic
development, planning, marketing, and executing Foundation
events and programs. She serves as the keynote speaker for the
Character Does Matter Leadership program to help school age
children realize the importance of leadership and character.
Ryan earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from Cabrini College. She resides
in Doylestown with her husband and two daughters, Maggie Rose
and Honor. |
